He expressed confidence that the position of Japan would greatly complicate the upcoming talks between Abe and Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

“They have complicated the negotiation process, that's for sure,” said Ushakov on the Russia 1 TV channel.

Earlier, Abe announced his intention to continue close consultations with Putin, as well as to achieve the completion of negotiations on a peace treaty.

On January 22, Putin and Abe plan to discuss issues related to the conclusion of a peace treaty between the states.
