South Korea and the United States will postpone the implementation of a US-Korea aerial drill, Vijilant Ace, scheduled for December, the Pentagon said.

The Pentagon spokesman Danny White said the two countries have decided to suspend Villehold ace enforcement of federal air drills to give North Korea an opportunity to continue all its diplomatic processes.

The announcement comes amid US Defense Secretary James Mathis attending a meeting of defense ministers in ASEAN.

US - ROK military exercises were halted at the direction of President Trump after the North American summit in Singapore last June.

Following the Eulji Freedom Guardian, which was scheduled for August, the training of the ROK Marine Corps was postponed indefinitely.

President Donald Trump told a news conference after the June 12 North Korea summit that it was a bad thing to train during negotiations with North Korea and decided to stop training, saying it was very provocative for North Korea.
