In the uprising in the Venezuelan capital Caracas an armored car has raced into a crowd. News agencies confirmed the incident after the Colombian TV station RCN had already seen the car overtake several demonstrators.

Whether people were injured or killed by the armored car was initially unclear. The incident apparently occurred near the air base "La Carlota".

The self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaidó had previously called the Venezuelan soldiers of the country to revolt. Renegade soldiers then freed the imprisoned for years opposition leader Leopoldo López from house arrest.
