According to him, after lengthy consultations, it was decided to send the signature protocol to the Russian side through diplomatic channels so that Ukrainian fishermen could continue to harvest aquatic biological resources within the legal framework.

“The protocol was signed through diplomatic channels,” the department’s press service quotes Belova.

He noted that the document provides Kiev with a number of advantages. So, he distributes the catch quota of a bull in the amount of 9 thousand tons for Ukraine and 6 thousand tons for Russia.

In addition, the protocol stipulates the transfer of the detained fishermen to the party whose citizenship they have, the head of the State Fishery Agency stressed.

The meeting of the Commission on fisheries in the Sea of ​​Azov with the participation of representatives of the two countries was held at the end of October 2018 in Kiev. Verkhovna Rada Deputy Refat Chubarov tried to disrupt the negotiations.
