From the 31st, Tokyo's largest retrospective exhibition entitled, "50 Years of Death" Exhibition tracing the painting of Tsuguharu Fujita (Tsugaru, 1886-1968) with oil painting as the center, It starts in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno. There were exhibition sessions on 30th and invited guests saw the masterpiece "five naked women" (23 years) and "Before the ball" (25 years), etc, with a skin called "wonderful milky white".

The exhibition introduces about 120 chapters from the early work, nude statue, wartime strategy record, about postwar religious paintings and children's painting by 8 chapters. In later years I introduced Fujita's turbulent painting which gained French nationality.

At the opening ceremony, Mamoru Makuro, director of the same hall, said "I would like you to touch the essence of Fujita art". Yoko Hayashi, an editor and art historian, told reporters, "As Fujita became historic, he thought of an exhibition-oriented exhibition."

Until October 8th. Mondays and September 18 and 25 are closed (open on August 13, September 17, 24, October 1 and 8).

Scheduled to visit Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art from 19th to 16th December.
