As stated in Trump's letter, which RIA Novosti cites, "the actions and policies of individuals who undermine democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity."
According to him, this “contributes to the misappropriation of its assets,” and the actions and policies of the “government of Russia”, including the “alleged annexation of Crimea and the use of force in Ukraine”, pose an extraordinary and extreme threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
