Lech Walesa and Jaroslaw Kaczynski remain divided. The former Polish president and the head of the conservative governing party saw themselves in court for defamation and refused mediation.

Kaczynski's brother and head of state Lech Kaczynski was killed in a plane crash eight years ago. The dispute is about a Facebook entry Walesa, in which he accused Kaczynski to have been responsible for the air disaster.

The former Solidarity chief also accused his opponent in the process again, despite extreme weather conditions, the risky landing approach in the Russian Smolensk "arranged".
