The file of the CDG Express, express rail link between Paris and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, has been removed from the responsibility of the Minister of Transport, Elisabeth, to avoid any risk of conflict of interest.

The Minister of Transport Elisabeth Borne, former boss of the RATP, was deported Saturday, October 13 of the award of the market of the exploitation of CDG Express, the fast rail relation having to connect Paris to the Roissy-Charles airport of Gaulle in order to "avoid any possible suspicion of a conflict of interest" .

A decree published this Saturday in the Official Journal said that the award of this contract will now be entrusted to the Minister of Ecological Transition, François de Rugy, which provides guardianship over transport.

"This decision was taken in order to prevent any possible suspicion of conflict of interest, given the responsibilities previously exercised by Elisabeth Borne at the head of RATP, which is a member of a group that is applying for the award of this contract" , it was explained in the entourage of the minister.

The Charles-de-Gaulle Express, or CDG Express, is scheduled to connect 2023 Gare de l'Est, in the center of Paris, to terminal 2 at Roissy airport. The journey, 32 kilometers long, will last 20 minutes and will cost 24 euros.

Suspicion on a motorway section in the Allier

In another file, that of a section of the future A79 motorway in the Allier, a competitor in contention asked if arrangements had been made to avoid a possible conflict of interest, said Le Monde recently.

Ms. Borne also spent several years in the construction group Eiffage, a candidate for this contract. According to Le Monde , Ms. Borne's office described the suspicions of conflict of interest as absurd.

The A79, which must take the place of the N79 in the part crossing the department of Allier, will represent a section with a toll of 72 kilometers.

The allocation decision on this file must be made before the end of the year and puts most of the major construction groups in competition: Bouygues, Eiffage, NGE, SPIE and Vinci.
