The diplomat noted that Britain prefers to assist the few areas of Syria that are under the control of opposition forces and extremists, as well as pseudo-humanitarian organizations such as "White Helmets".

He added that the recovery process is accelerated in Syria, in connection with which, the preservation of sanctions against the country's authorities is unacceptable and inhuman, as this limits the government’s ability to acquire essential items and medicines.

He also said that, on average, about a thousand refugees return to Syria from Jordan and Lebanon on average within 24 hours.

“Despite this, the British refuse to provide any assistance to these people, stressing the alleged lack of“ proper conditions ”in Syria for them to return to normal life, but they also do not help create such conditions. We consider this approach to be shortsighted and unconstructive, ”the embassy said.

Earlier, the UN said that Western sanctions against Syria must be changed so that they do not harm civilians and Syrian refugees.
