Prince Philip, 97, the husband of Queen Elizabeth, received a police warning after taking pictures of him driving a car without putting on his seat belt, days after he suffered an accident while driving.

Newspapers printed pictures of Philip driving a Land Rover vehicle on Saturday at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where he and the queen were staying. The pictures did not show he was using a seat belt on a highway.

"We are aware of the pictures," a police spokesman said. "I have given the driver the right advice, which is what we usually do when we get pictures showing that kind of offense."

Prince Felipe survived an accident on Tuesday after his car overturned after colliding with another vehicle near Sandringham.

The driver was not hurt, but the 28-year-old driver was injured in the knee and broke the wrist of another 45-year-old woman with a nine-month-old baby. They were taken to hospital and later discharged.

A spokeswoman for Prince Philip was asked about Saturday's incident, saying "it's up to the Norfolk police."
