He stated this in an interview with DW.

“Hungarians live in Transcarpathia, who, according to Hungarian law, have the right to dual citizenship ... If you look at Ukrainian laws, it is not said anywhere that having a passport of another country is a crime or is prohibited,” the minister said

At the same time, he indicated that he did not know whether the Hungarian passports were issued to Ukrainian officials.

"In Hungary, to obtain a second citizenship, it does not matter whether a person is an official or not," the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry added.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin said that Hungary had issued tens of thousands of passports to Ukrainians who live in the Transcarpathian region.

In September, it was reported that an investigation into the granting of Hungarian citizenship to Ukrainians in Beregove, Transcarpathian Region, was being conducted under an article on treason.

Andrei Suzdaltsev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of World Economy at the HSE, commented on the provision of Hungarian citizenship to Ukrainians.
