The governor of the Nikolaev area wrote a letter of resignation

As it is noted, he was appointed to the post of chairman of the Nikolaev regional state administration in October 2016.

On April 8, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, dismissed Stepanov from his post. The official refused to leave his post, despite the presidential decree. He connected this decision of the Ukrainian leader with elections in the country.

Later, the Ukrainian government approved a draft presidential decree on Stepanov’s dismissal.
