The father of the stringer in Syria, RT Arabic Khaled Al-Khatyba was awarded the medal "For Courage"

The award was presented to him by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov.

Also, the medal was awarded to the operator and the driver of the film crew who worked with al-Khatib.

The journalist Khaled al-Khatib collaborated with RT Arabic. He did subjects from Syria on the fight against terrorism. In July 2017, Khaled, along with the film crew, came under the rocket fire of the IG * fighters in the Syrian province of Homs. Stringer al-Khatyb died, cameraman Yakub Mutaz was injured, but survived.

Al-Khatibu was 25 years old, he studied at the University of Damascus.
