“I would say that a hybrid weapon against the population of Ukraine is the government of the country, which since 2014 has raised prices more than 10 times for its citizens, motivating it with energy independence from Russian gas. And now they are planning to increase them by about 2 times under pressure from external lenders, ”said the expert.
According to him, “if the Ukrainian government implements all these plans, then yes, energy independence from foreign suppliers will occur.”
“But this will happen at the price of the fact that there will simply be no consumer left. Because it is obvious that with such gas prices, ordinary people and industrial consumers in Ukraine will not be able to buy and pay for it, ”concluded Grivach.
Earlier, Groysman said that Ukraine had refused Russian gas, which, according to the Prime Minister, “was used as a hybrid weapon,” and now four steps are needed for energy independence.
According to him, it is necessary to increase the production of Ukrainian gas, to achieve energy efficiency and the integration of the Ukrainian gas transportation system into the European market, as well as to protect Ukrainians who are not able to fully pay for utilities through a system of subsidies.
