The Medef on Monday invited companies to participate in the "big national debate" organized by the government to respond to the movement of "yellow vests", while the CPME has launched a consultation with its members.

Companies invited to participate. "The Medef invites companies and entrepreneurs to participate widely in this indispensable dialogue with the French," according to a statement from the first French employers' organization. The Medef "will be very attentive to the conclusions of this consultation which should allow to appease the country, but also and above all to engage it on the path of an accepted and shared reform", continues the text.

An "animation kit" sent to business leaders. CPME President François Asselin said in his vows that his organization had sent an "animation kit" to business leaders to collect their proposals. "We will make a restitution on January 30 in Paris to which I invited all my presidents of departments and region to go up the summary of all these territorial consultations," he told AFP. The goal is "that business leaders arrive with a structured economic and social corpus not to be embarked on dead positions", because "we do not want companies to find themselves the collateral victims of this movement." François Asselin said to see an erosion of investor confidence following the movement of "yellow vests".

"We are starting to see reports where companies, even though they have activity for the moment, the entire medium-term investment part is getting a little wait," he said. "We feel an executive that has been fragile, we feel that the answer is not obvious to give to this spontaneous movement at the beginning - all this does not help the confidence in the economic circles", estimates the president of the CPME .
