Egyptian artist Mahmoud El-Jendi died at a private hospital in the 6th of October City in Giza, west of the capital, at the age of 74, according to local media.
"The funeral prayer and condolences will be held at the Abu al-Matamir Center in the lake (west of the Nile Delta), the birthplace of the late artist," said Captain Ashraf Zaki.
Mahmoud Al-Jundi was born on February 24, 1945 in Al-Beheira Governorate. He joined Al-Sanayah School of Textile and then joined the Higher Institute of Cinema.
And the latest works of the artistic soldier (which has not yet come to light), the series "Hakkayti", which was currently participating, and is scheduled to be presented in the upcoming Ramadan season.
During his studies at the Higher Institute of Cinema he participated for the first time in the drama, "Compars" through the series of Eid al-Adha (1965), and graduated in the Institute in 1967.
Mahmud al-Jundi fought the October 1973 war and ended his military service in 1974 with the rank of captain. He was then appointed to the Al-Tali'ah Theater in central Cairo.
He participated for the first time in the cinema in the film "Doaa al-Mazloum" (1977 by Hassan al-Imam), and then participated in many film works.
Representation began through his participation in the shows presented by the Muslim Brotherhood, and his first play was entitled "On the banks of Yarmouk."
The soldier was known for the light comedy roles at the beginning of his artistic career, and with his age he excelled in the roles of evil.
Many of the artists and celebrities were keen on the memory of the late Mahmoud al-Jundi, through social networking platforms.
