For two days, in La Baule, Safer gathered in national congress will look at the protection of land.

"For living territories: a protected land, oriented, valued," is the theme of the national conference organized on Thursday, December 6 and Friday, December 7, by the Land Development and Rural Settlement Societies (Safer), the Palace of Atlantia Congress, in La Baule.

Safer's warnings on artificialization and land grabbing and on the financialisation of agriculture have been heard by the public authorities.

As part of their congress, the Safer wish to share and enrich reflections on the protection of land in the future and feed projects for legislative changes.

According to Emmanuel Hyest, president of Safer, "50 ha are consumed per year, including urbanization and its subdivisions. It is the equivalent of the agricultural land of a department that disappears every six years.

Didier Guillaume, Minister of Agriculture, canceled his participation at the Congress in extremis. On the agenda of these two days, conferences, workshops and information meetings attended by 450 to 500 participants. Agricultural officials representing the Safer, collaborators, elected including Philippe Grosvalet, chairman of the departmental council and partners (Chamber of Agriculture, consulting firm, banks ...).
