The commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasim Soleimani said that his country will respond to any threat by the United States, stressing that his country will not negotiate with Washington in the current circumstances, because that is surrender.

Sulaimani said that the US administration is trying with all its might to pressure Iran by destabilizing its security and imposing economic sanctions on it. He pointed out that the United States has lost its strength in western and eastern Asia and relies on some countries in the region only.

"The enemies are trying to drag Iran to the negotiating table through economic sanctions," Solaimani said in a speech on the second day of the General Conference of the leaders, heads and directors of Iran's internal security forces.

On April 8, Washington listed the Revolutionary Guards, part of the Iranian army, on a list of foreign terrorist organizations, in a first-of-its-kind resolution, since the United States had previously classified no military entity as a terrorist organization.

On the other hand, the Supreme National Security Council announced the inclusion of the US Central Command "CENTCOM" within the list of terrorist organizations.

Founded in 1979 after the Islamic revolution in Iran, the Revolutionary Guard is the country's most powerful security organization, controlling large sectors of the economy and having a major influence on the political system.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have escalated since Trump announced the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran in 2015.
