Sudanese officials demonstrated today in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum at the invitation of a group of professionals, who have been leading since December the procession demanding the departure of President Omar al-Bashir, while the security forces began a campaign of large-scale arrests.

Demonstrations under the name of "bread and justice" took place in the neighborhoods of Jabra, Al-Kalka and Al-Kalakla, south of Khartoum, and in Shambat and Mazad in Khartoum, and the former Minister of Democracy, Omar Hazrat, participated in the Shambat demonstration.

The demonstrators chanted slogans "Woe wil ... April 6" to promote the march of April 6, and shouted for freedom, peace and justice, and protested the youth in the neighborhood Alfteihab Omdurman shouting slogans urging participation in the procession.

The march next Saturday marks the anniversary of a popular uprising that overthrew former President Jaafar Nimeiri on April 6, 1985, after he ruled the country for 16 years.

Campaign of arrests
The security authorities launched a campaign of arrests including the journalist and leader of the Sudanese National Alliance Maher Abu al-Gokh from his home in the neighborhood of net in Khartoum today, and member of the Baath Party poet and novelist Hassan Bakri.

In the northern state, the arrests involved students at the University of Dongola, which since the resumption of the study four days ago student protests, while students of the University of Kassala - Sharq - a protest at the headquarters of the main university.

For the second day, the students of the Rabat University of Police demonstrated in Khartoum, as well as the students of the Faculty of Renaissance to the street to participate in the processions of "bread and justice".

Injuries were reported among the protesters following the intervention of the security forces, the most serious of which was in Jabra district, where one person was hit by a tear gas canister in the back of his head and taken to Royal Care Hospital.

Friday letters
Lawyers in the city of Wad Madani, the capital of the island state of Khartoum south, held a protest in front of the judiciary and raised banners reading "Down with."

The developments come a day before a speech expected by President al-Bashir on Friday evening ahead of the call of the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change of the procession demanding the removal of the president.

It is expected that there will be similar speeches to political leaders, most notably the leader of the Umma National Party Sadiq al-Mahdi, the Sudanese Congress Party President Omar al-Dugair, the Justice and Equality Movement Jibril Ibrahim, and Yasir Arman, deputy head of the SPLM-North.

Sudan has been witnessing demonstrations since last December because of high bread prices, lack of fuel and liquidity, and with the involvement of the professional community in the protests took a political nature demanding the withdrawal of Bashir.
