The Sudanese opposition has called for a "million march" to pressure the military authorities to transfer power to civilians. It was a success: by bus, car or even by train, the protesters arrived from everywhere to answer the opposition's call.

The million-strong protest was held in Khartoum on Thursday (April 25th) to speed up the process of democratic transition. The opposition's appeal has been widely followed despite the Military Council's commitments to meet most of the opposition's demands.

In front of the headquarters of the army, it's a real human tide. Songs, screams, sticks that are struck against fences: the demonstrators decided to make noise. And to prove to the military council that runs the country that their determination is intact.

Ali Mohamed, 32, came from Atbara, where the riots began in December. For him, the revolution is not over: " The old regime is not totally destroyed. Because we still see faces of this time. We must not stop demonstrating now. We'll stay there until we've got everything . "

The youth, who knew only the regime of Omar al-Bashir, is not ready to yield. She is aware of her strength and is proud to have succeeded with a peaceful revolution to bend a regime she feared so much. Mansour el Khalifa Ahmed, lawyer, absolutely wanted to participate in this million march: " Being there is very important to guarantee our rights. There is no other way to guarantee them. We, we have neither force nor weapon ".

The Transitional Military Council, which had announced that it would respond favorably to the demands of the opposition, had to take note on Thursday of the extent of popular mobilization in Sudan.
