The toll of attacks on Sri Lanka during Easter Sunday was revised downwards, with some bodies of mutilated victims being counted several times.

The Sri Lankan authorities sharply revised Thursday down the record of the attacks on Easter Sunday, announcing that they killed 253 people and not 359 as stated before.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the medical staff had completed all autopsies Thursday night and concluded that some bodies of mutilated victims had been counted several times.
