The Ophéli e, fishing boat of Saint-Quay-Portrieux (Côtes-d'Armor), sank in the night from Monday to Tuesday. Two men were on board: the boss and the sailor.

The second sailor not found

The body of the sailor was found Tuesday evening, in the trawler lying 40 m deep, near the lighthouse of Grand Léjon. His body will be autopsied Friday, December 7, in Brest.

The second man, the owner of the ship, was not found in the boat during searches that resumed Wednesday with divers, before being suspended a few hours later.

The investigation, conducted by the Brest Maritime Gendarmerie and the Littoral Unit of Lézardrieux, continues. "It's probably a quaver. The trawl was found hanging on a pebble, the funnels hanging. The accident certainly occurred while the boat was fishing, "said Alain Le Coz, Vice-Prosecutor of the Republic in Saint-Brieuc. The funes are the steel cables that connect the fishing gear to the trawler.

Ophelia will be bailed out in the coming weeks.
