According to the minister, attempts by some countries to shift the regime in Venezuela for the sake of their own interests led to a deterioration of the social situation in the region, RIA Novosti reports.

Shoigu recalled the consequences of such external actions in the Middle East and North Africa and warned against the development of a similar scenario in the Bolivarian Republic.

“The policy of replacing unwanted regimes and implanting development models from outside not only leads to chaos in vast regions, but also results in the growth of real threats, including a surge of international terrorism and huge waves of illegal migration,” said Shoigu members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek.
