“We were indignant at the report that the United States imposed personal sanctions on Venezuela’s foreign minister, Jorge Arreasa. A crude attempt to put pressure on the government of this country and the entire Venezuelan people is once again made, ”the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on the website of the foreign ministry.
At the same time, the Foreign Ministry stressed that such a policy discredits international diplomacy.
“We urge the United States to return to the international legal field, to stop the policy of blackmail and provoking tension in Venezuela from the outside,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
Earlier, the United States announced the introduction of sanctions against Arreasy.
In response, the diplomat said that the Bolivarian Republic was on the right track.
