Despite his admiration for Argentine Lionel Messi and Barcelona's passion for playing, former Brazilian star Romario puts Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in a much higher position and ranks him among the top five players in football history.
"I love Messi, it's great, but Ronaldo is among the top five players in history," he said in a television interview with Fox Sports.
"If I had to choose one of them to play with, I would choose to play with Messi, he is technically more gifted, and better at Ronaldo than on the pitch."
The Brazilian star praised Ronaldo's professional ethic and devotion to training, saying: "He is a very focused and undeniable man, he works to be the best, I think his development is a direct result of this effort."
