This Saturday evening, firefighters were called to Rennes, while thick fumes were emerging from the front of a restaurant located 1, rue des Fossés, near the Parliament of Brittany, in the historic center.

Fifteen firefighters, with several vehicles, were in action this Saturday evening at 9:30 pm in the city center of Rennes. They were called in the evening while witnesses had just reported a strong smell of smoke in an Asian restaurant, the Table Rouge, located at 1, rue des Fossés, in the busy district of the Parliament of Brittany.

The fire took in the insulation, behind the hood

Once there, relief workers discovered that the smoke came from the kitchen, specifically from the insulating layer behind the hood. Luckily, there were no clients in the establishment when the alert was given. They were not bothered by the thick smoke. By the way, the fire did not spread, it remained confined to this part of the restaurant.

Firefighters had to do a long job of cleaning up, to make sure the fire did not bake in the walls of the kitchen, in other places. During their intervention, the police prevented traffic on Rue des Fossés. Relief worked under the eyes of many onlookers, sitting on the terraces around.
