The opposition criticized the announcements, conceived as a global response to the crisis of "yellow vests", made by President Emmanuel Macron during the first press conference of his mandate.

In the opening remarks of his press conference, Emmanuel Macron chose to make ecology one of the four major themes of the rest of his quinquennium. With a short-term concrete measure: a citizen convention, of which 150 members will be drawn, will be put in place by the summer to reflect on new environmental policies.
