“To consider as the most important state task the elimination in the shortest possible time of the consequences of wildfires on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory,” reads the published decree.

In addition, the head of state instructed the Cabinet in the period before June 15 to decide on the payment of compensation to victims of fires in the region in the amount of 10 thousand, 50 thousand and 100 thousand rubles, depending on the degree of material damage.

The decree provides for the restoration of agricultural resources and infrastructure in the region until October 15.

It is also planned to allocate funds from the federal budget for the overhaul of homes damaged by fires and the construction of new housing.

According to the decree, the government of Transbaikalia is obliged to submit a plan to eliminate the consequences of a state of emergency until May 15.

Earlier, the authorities of the Trans-Baikal Territory announced the provision of compensation to victims of fires in the amount of from 10 thousand to 400 thousand rubles.

On April 19, an emergency situation was introduced in the Trans-Baikal Territory in connection with the steppe fires.

According to the latest data, damage from wildfires in the region amounted to 1 billion rubles.
