The Russian leader also wished a speedy recovery to all victims.
Earlier, the government of the Portuguese island declared a three-day mourning after the death of 29 people in an accident involving a tourist bus.
In the German Foreign Ministry, commenting on this accident, noted that it is necessary to proceed from the fact that the victims were citizens of this country.
