This is the photo that should not be missed: the handshake very warm between two leaders who had never met before. Dark suit and Mao collar, Kim Jong-un looks relaxed, smiling, visibly pleased to meet the Russian president.

" I hope our meeting will be helpful in strengthening our friendship ," said the North Korean leader. And that our dialogue will work to resolve the situation on the Korean peninsula . "

All the codes of the great international summits are respected: bilateral meeting, extended meeting to the councilors and to some ministers, then dinner in head to head and exchange of gifts. No common statement on the other hand, but an exchange of compliments.

At the end of the summit, Vladimir Putin praised the North Korean leader: " We are happy with the results. President Kim has an open personality and is willing to discuss all topics freely. We spoke in great detail about the main subject, the denuclearization of the peninsula, and I confirm that the conversation with him has been exciting and fruitful ! "

The Russian president has taken care not to criticize the negotiations initiated directly between North Korea and the United States . But he recalled the Russian position on the issue: we must give guarantees to Pyongyang to encourage him to give up the nuclear weapon.
