France's Notre Dame Basilica has reportedly been overtaken by an electrical overload on the side of the scaffolding, which was installed to repair the facade of the cathedral.

The French government is investigating whether there is any abnormality in the electric circuit of the scaffolding installed on the roof of the cathedral.

The fire on the roof of the Notre Dame Cathedral on the Isle of Sight in Paris' old town on the evening of the 15th is believed to have a fire point on the scaffolding for the renovation work.

The authorities are focusing on whether there is any abnormality in the equipment that supplies electric power to the elevator of the scaffold installed especially for the spire repair.

It is possible that it was ignited by electric overload.
