“Shocked by the news of the tragic death of the mayor of Gdansk Pavel Adamovich. I know how much he did good for the Ukrainians in Poland and the Ukrainian-Polish relations. This is a heavy loss for all of us, ”Poroshenko wrote on Twitter.
The Ukrainian leader expressed solidarity with Poland and the Polish people in grief and prayer.
Poroshenko duplicated his message in Polish.
Adamovich died on January 14 after a day before an unknown person struck him several times with a knife during fireworks at a charity event raising funds to help medical institutions.
The murder suspect pleaded not guilty.
