“You understand well: a war that has no end in sight, a divided Ukraine, an economy on the verge of default - I won’t list all the problems that still exist ... Less promise and more to do. "Social danger"

On the eve of the voting day, April 20, the Ukrainian lawyer and election observer from the public organization Ukrainian Association of Shareholders, Andrei Khilko, announced that the Sixth Kyiv Court of Appeal would consider a lawsuit declaring Zelensky’s candidacy from the election.

The lawyer accused the politician of allegedly violating election laws. According to him, Zelensky on his page on the social network offered subscribers to come to the debate between candidates for free on April 19.

“Such a pre-election campaign or provision to voters free of charge or on preferential terms of any services, lotteries, accompanied by the mention of the name of the candidate, is considered to be a bribe to voters in paragraph 1 of Part 3 of Art. 56 of the law (“On the election of the president of Ukraine”) ”,“ Strana.ua ”gives the text of the statement of claim.

However, the court dismissed the charges. According to the court decision, the appeal of the policy does not fall under the concept of "bribing voters." The pre-election headquarters of Zelensky said that the lawsuit was filed with the aim of creating an infoprovod.

“This lawsuit is only a tool for creating an infopowder and the last attempt to prevent a candidate for elections, and therefore has an increased public danger,” said a representative of Zelensky in court.

The Poroshenko team said they were not related to Zelensky’s accusations of "voter bribery."

“We have nothing to do with this lawsuit at all, we believe that this is a discredit on the eve of the elections,” Gromadske TV quoted the words of Poroshenko’s headquarters representative Oleg Medvedev.
