On her knees to the exit: the UK and the prosecutor's office will check the hospital in Pervouralsk, where the pensioner crawled down the stairs

In Pervouralsk, prosecutors and investigators of the IC started checking after a video appeared on social networks, where an elderly woman had to go down the steps of a local hospital, where the emergency room is also located.

On the frames made by the husband of an elderly woman, it is clear that she has a serious leg injury, therefore, going down, she first literally jumps on one leg up the stairs. Then she gets up on her knees and starts backing slowly down the steps.

“This is how people go down to Pervouralsk hospital. From the emergency room out. The lift does not work, nobody does anything. And, it seems, no one needs anything, ”- indignantly behind the scenes a man who all the time is following with the phone in his hands.

On the 30-second video posted on the social network "Vkontakte" in the group "Incident | Pervouralsk ”, quickly paid attention to the media, the video was watched by tens of thousands of people, as a result of which he came to the attention of the security forces.

“According to preliminary information, in 2015, a lift was installed in the hospital for people with limited mobility who need help moving to the hospital, including the 2nd floor where the emergency room is located. At the same time, on the 1st floor, near the lift, an announcement was posted that it was necessary to contact the registry office to assist in using the lift, ”said the regional prosecutor's office, where the inspection was organized.

On Thursday, Pervouralsk prosecutors themselves went to the hospital and found that on the 2nd floor, where the emergency room is located, there are no such announcements explaining how to use the elevator. Thus, according to the prosecutor’s office, the patient simply did not notice the call button, as it is not easy to see it without a hint.

“During the inspection, the prosecutor’s office will give a legal assessment of compliance with federal legislation in the hospital’s activities in the provision of medical care, including the availability of the available infrastructure,” the supervisory department said, promising to take prosecutor’s response measures if necessary.

Employees of the Pervouralsk department of the Investigative Committee began their check, but there they refrain from making any conclusions.

“Given the situation described in the media, there may be signs of a violation of the rights of socially unprotected citizens to quality medical care, in order to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and verify the accuracy of the information reported in the media, the necessary verification activities are organized,” the SC said.

They noted that, following the results of the inspection, the actions or inaction of hospital officials will be given a legal assessment.

On Thursday evening, the official representative of the regional central board, Alexander Shulga, in an interview with RT, noted that the department is not in a hurry with preliminary conclusions, since the trial is at an initial stage.

The head physician of the hospital told local media that no patient approached him.

“We have a lift for such patients with limited mobility. There are pointers where you can see the entrance from the other side. People are dedicated to this business - the lifters are trained. They all raise and lower. At night, the watchmen taught also do it. This woman, apparently, did not turn anywhere, she herself rose to the second floor. If she came to the registry or to the administrator, she would have been lifted and lowered, ”Nikolai Shaidurov quotes the E1.ru publication.

In turn, the regional Ministry of Health also promptly conducted an inspection. Confirming the efficiency of the lift in the department noted that no complaints about him or the ministry, nor the hospital management did not.

In April 2015, a similar story occurred in the same hospital, also widely reported in the media. A pensioner with a broken leg had to crawl up the stairs to the second floor to see a doctor in the emergency room.

At the same time, the lift already existed at the institution, but it did not work - the ceremonial launch was to take place on 9 May. The incident hit the video, the prosecutor's office became interested in recording. Against the background of the resonance, the hospital management was forced to launch the elevator literally on the same day, a few weeks ahead of schedule.
