Normandy Chloé Fossey, gold medal at the regional level, aims for the victory in aesthetic care. The young Caen, who suffers from severe dyslexia, has the will and the sure gesture.

"I told myself that I would never be a beautician like a mother," smiles Chloe Fossey, sitting in the small treatment room she occupies in her mother's living room. But that was before the 3rd. Diagnosed with severe dyslexia in primary school, she is referred to a 3rd prep pro high school experimental Hérouville-Saint-Clair, near Caen. During the year, she does internships in a professional environment. "I discovered canine grooming, the job of florist, the sales of equine equipment. For her last internship, failing to find a company to welcome her, she folds "out of spite" in the organic beauty institute "Nature and Beauty" of her mother.

"I immediately liked the contact with clients, the precision of the job, the constant renewal of care," she says. Direction the aesthetic CAP to Victor-Lépine in Caen. Again, she multiplies internships to discover the job. At school, Chloe is accompanied by help with school life. She struggles to read, understand the instructions and can only write phonetically. From her difficulties, she draws "great mental strength" and compensates for her theoretical handicaps by her technical abilities. Proof of her determination, she won the regional gold medal at the end of CAP for Best Apprentice of France (MAF).

Daily discomfort

For her continuing education, Chloe chose what she considers "the best apprenticeship school" in aesthetic care at the Coutances Apprenticeship Training Center. She no longer has any school help and leaves alone to prepare her professional certificate, hosted by her grandmother. She obtains a job alternately at Tendance Spa in Saint-Lô, "to work in a large team and learn a lot. Chloe is recognized as a disabled worker. Dyslexia is a daily embarrassment to write care sheets, schedules or gift cards, read the leaflets, write the names of the clients. She overcomes with a lot of attention and precision in her care and looks for performance.

Go to Russia

After the competition of the Maf, she looks for another challenge and discovers on the internet the existence of the Olympics. Her professional certificate in hand, without school and without employer, she decides to register in the contest, chooses her coaches and settles in the living room of her mother to train all the week. To practice the contest, she asks friends and acquaintances. If she masters most of the techniques, some were unknown to her, such as nail prostheses or eyelash extensions. "We have to repeat very technical gestures to achieve a high level of precision. She wins the gold at the regional and hopes to win the national title to continue the adventure of the Olympics to the international finals in Russia.

"I really hope to win, but even if I do not succeed, I would have made a lot of progress and decided to go work abroad. Because of dyslexia, Chloe never learned English. Next year, she will leave for one year as part of the Erasmus + program in Croatia, Guadeloupe and Réunion to work as a spa hotel with a tourist clientele, in English. And after ? "I would like to represent a brand or be a trainer. In the next cabin, her mother smiles, very proud of her daughter.
