For the second year in a row, there will be a sound and light show on the Champs-Elysées Avenue on Monday, December 31st during the transition to the New Year. An event that, however, takes place in a very particular context with the mobilization of "yellow vests" who are planning to participate in the party among tourists. The safety device, always consistent for the occasion, was thus further strengthened.

The mayor of Paris hesitated, but she finally maintained her event on the Champs-Elysees. Between the expected crowd, the "yellow vests" who invite themselves and the terrorist threat always diffuse, ensure the safety on the avenue is not a small matter.

This is at least what the authorities think that have therefore provided a strengthened device. Prohibition of traffic and parking, prohibition to bring alcohol, cafe terraces should be emptied at the beginning of the evening not to provide projectiles to possible thugs and finally, the party animals can be searched and their bags controlled.

Last year, 400,000 gathered for the occasion to attend a pyrotechnic show with sound and light projected on the Arc de Triomphe.

The authorities expect so much this year, plus the "yellow vests". The Facebook groups of the movement have launched the call for the act VIII: the awakening on the Champs-Elysees . An event announced as festive and non-violent to which nearly 10,000 people have already registered and which interests more than 60,000 others.
