Netherlands recall ambassador to Iran after the expulsion of two diplomats

"The government decided to recall the Dutch ambassador to Tehran for consultations," said Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Block on his Twitter account.

It is clarified that this decision is connected with the announcement of two employees of the Dutch mission personified by persona non grata.

Despite objections from the Dutch Foreign Ministry and warnings about the possible negative consequences of this decision for the two countries, Dutch diplomats were expelled from Tehran on Sunday, March 3.

In July, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the expulsion of diplomats from the Netherlands, calling the move unconstructive and unfriendly.
