“I think it is important to understand that Ukraine and Georgia are independent and sovereign states that have the sovereign right to choose their own way,” he said during communication with journalists.

According to Stoltenberg, to consider that "the entry of Georgia and Ukraine into NATO as a provocation" means "to accept the right of Russia to decide what its neighbors should do."

“This means the same thing as accepting the world order, where big powers can decide for their neighbors what they should do and what not,” the head of the alliance believes.

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that the countries of the alliance agreed on a package of measures to support Ukraine in the Black Sea.

It is specified that similar support will also be provided to Georgia.
