Monday will be sunny and cold over a large part of the country, according to Météo-France forecasts. From the Alps to the Mediterranean, the sun will prevail with a little mistral and tramontane up to 60/70 km / h.

From the Hauts-de-France and the Grand Est to the Center, the atmosphere will be cold but the weather will be sunny. On the northwest, the morning frost patches will give way to a hesitating sky between clouds and clearings.

A snowy offensive is expected between Tuesday and Wednesday on the country: 5 to 10 cm in plain on a large eastern half, a few cm further west and on Alsace. Heavy snowfall and avalanche risk in the Pyrenees (> 1m above 1400m).

Snowfall on the Pyrenees. On the rest of the country, the weather will remain gloomy with some rain in the plains of the Southwest and some flakes on the Massif Central. On the Pyrenees, the snowfall will be more moderate in the morning above 600/700 m of altitude. On Corsica, the weather will be unstable with showers in the form of snow above 1,000 m altitude.

Up to 14 degrees on the Mediterranean rim. In the morning, frosts between 0 and -5 degrees will be almost universal inland. Near the shores, the minimum will go from -2 to 7 degrees from north to south. In the afternoon, it will be 1 to 4 degrees north, east and center, 4 to 9 degrees elsewhere, up to 10 to 14 degrees near the Mediterranean.
