His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received two phone calls from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Amran Khan.

His Highness briefed the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India on recent developments in the Indian-Pakistani arena, stressing the importance of dealing with these worrying developments wisely, and working to ease the tension between the two friendly countries and give priority to the language of dialogue and communication.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the keenness of the United Arab Emirates that the positive relations between the two neighboring countries prevail, pointing to the common historical and cultural ground that brings them together.

Prince Saud stressed the keenness of the UAE on peace and stability in the bilateral relations of India and Pakistan, and his great confidence in the Pakistani and Indian leadership on the priority of dialogue and communication in dealing with the accelerated and disturbing events during the past days.

In Islamabad, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan told a joint session of the parliament that Pakistan would release the Indian pilot detained in a peace gesture to New Delhi after tensions between the two countries escalated.

"We will release him tomorrow (today) as a gesture of peace," Khan said in a speech to parliament.

Amran Khan renewed his country's desire for peace and defused tension with India, reiterating his call for dialogue, but warned at the same time that his country would respond strongly to any aggression on its territory. He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and defuse tension between the two countries.

Omran Khan criticized India's delay in handing over the file of the Balwamah attack, which left dozens of dead and wounded Indian soldiers, mid-last month, and asked why the delay, especially after the Indian violation of Pakistani sovereignty, referring to the Indian leadership sought to exploit the attack politically and electrically.

He praised the unity of the Pakistani parties in the government and the opposition to the Indian escalation, as well as the readiness and capabilities of the Pakistani armed forces.

In New Delhi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Indian people to stand against the "enemy attack" as anger mounted in the country because of Pakistan's capture of the Indian pilot.

US President Donald Trump told a news conference in Hanoi after his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that he had received "relatively good news from Pakistan and India."

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he had spoken with Indian and Pakistani leaders and urged them to avoid "any move that would escalate and increase the threat."
