"The current government, realizing that it completely lost the support of the population and does not have legal arguments to defend its position, resorts to the analogue of" scorched earth tactics "that were always used by the enemies of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," the party’s website says.

He noted that the decision of the Ukrainian government to demolish the stela was contested by representatives of his party in court, as the monument is not subject to the law on decommunization.

Nevertheless, as the politician emphasizes, the examination of the monument was not possible due to the fault of the authorities: the expert was not allowed to inspect the stele.

According to the leader of the opposition party, the destruction of the monument is "an act of vandalism, lawlessness and politically motivated arbitrariness," and information about his alleged emergency condition does not correspond to reality.

Earlier it was reported that workers in Lviv managed to dismantle the stele of the Monument of Glory only from the third attempt.
