“Contracts have been signed to guarantee investments of more than $ 5 billion to increase oil production with Russian partners,” Maduro told a video message on his Twitter.

He also noted that Russian investments are guaranteed for more than $ 1 billion in the production of the mining industry, primarily gold.

In addition, he noted that Russia will supply 600 thousand tons of grain. According to him, grain supplies are guaranteed in 2019 and for the subsequent period.

Maduro added that an agreement was reached with Moscow on the modernization of Venezuela’s weapons.

Also Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that the country is interested in the modernization of ground and air systems that were previously supplied from Russia.

Earlier, during his meeting with Maduro, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned attempts to change the political situation in Venezuela by force.
