"The law temporarily, for a period of six calendar years (instead of the current three calendar years), increased the rates of export (export) duty on waste and scrap of ferrous metals - to € 58 per 1 ton (instead of the current € 42 and 1 ton)", - says in the message.

In the explanatory note to the law it is noted that since 2016, thanks to the introduced measure, Ukraine has been witnessing a decrease in the deficit of scrap metal and generally positive trends in the supply of metallurgical enterprises with this raw material.

The authors of the law expect that the implementation of measures will bring the budget about 1.55 billion hryvnia per year.

In December, Interfax-Ukraine reported on the intention of the country's government to extend the embargo on imports of a number of goods from Russia for a year.
