Police in Northern Ireland arrested two men aged 18 and 19 in the investigation into the death of the 29-year-old journalist who was killed after riots in Londonderry.

What happened to Lyra McKee, 29, losing her life on Thursday night? The journalist was shot dead during a shootout in Londonderry, on the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. On Saturday, the North Irish police announced the arrest of two young men.

Interviewed in Belfast. Aged 18 and 19, the two individuals are detained under the anti-terrorism legislation, the police having considered that the violence that led to the death of the young woman was terrorism. They were taken to a Belfast police station for questioning. So far, the authorities have pointed out "violent Republican dissidents" and "most likely the new IRA", dissident group of the historic Irish Republican Army, as the leaders of the shooting exchanges.
