Attac points the policy of large companies in terms of employment, tax evasion, environment ... ERIC PIERMONT / AFP

In a two-day study of the Davos Economic Forum, which begins Tuesday, Attac pinpoints the CAC 40 companies. With their tax and environmental practices, they have " a disastrous impact on society and the planet, " according to the association. global justice.

Profit distribution, taxation and impact on the environment ... Attac makes an overwhelming observation after thoroughly examining the annual reports of the largest French market capitalizations over the past eight years.

" Beautiful speeches "

The spokesperson of the association distinguishes " the beautiful speeches " that hold the bosses of large companies and reality. The number of employees of these companies would have decreased by almost 20% and at the same time, the cumulative profits of these companies would have increased by more than 9%.

The Attac study gives the emblematic example of Michelin: the turnover of the tire manufacturer is up by 22% and its workforce in France has decreased in the same proportions.

Continuing increase in executive salaries

The anti-globalization association is also indignant at a steady increase in the salaries of the leaders: a bigger increase than for the average salary. But the real winners are the shareholders, with a 44% increase in dividends, as major groups, increasingly familiar with tax optimization , pay less and less taxes. Attac accuses these big companies of " champions of tax evasion ".
