The Palestinian Prisoners' Center for Studies reported that the number of Palestinians held in prisons reached 5700, including 980 children and 175 women and girls.

According to the report, among children under the age of 10 years, "in a dangerous precedent, the child detained the child Dargham Karam Toda, who did not exceed the age of three years only in the old town of Hebron and eat it for no reason."

The Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees Authority said that these detainees are distributed over 22 prisons inside Israel.

According to a report by the Authority, 450 prisoners are subject to administrative detention, meaning that they are detained without a court decision.

87% of the total Palestinian prisoners are from the West Bank, approximately 8% from Jerusalem and 5% from the Gaza Strip.

Among the prisoners are 48 detainees who have been detained for more than 20 years, including 27 from the pre-Oslo period signed by the PLO with the Israeli government in 1993.
