“We are concerned about the ongoing campaigns of Russia, China and other foreign players, including Iran, to undermine confidence in democratic institutions and influence public sentiment and government policies. These events can also affect the perception of voters and decision-making in the elections in 2018 and 2020 in the United States, ”the text says.
The document also states that these campaigns can use social networks or “sponsor certain content in English-language media, such as RT or Sputnik”.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that China poses a greater “threat” to elections than Russia.
