"We have an ambitious goal - by 90% to abandon traditional Kalashnikov assault rifles, Makarov pistols, TT, replacing them with modern European weapons," said Knyazev.

He also said that "a decision has already been made to purchase the German MP-5 submachine guns", which, according to him, "every patrol outfit will be provided."

Earlier, the representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykola Shevtsov, told how many weapons and military equipment the Ukrainian authorities provided other countries during 2014–2018.
