This Saturday, October 13, 2018, a day in tribute to the reservists was organized at Mont-Saint-Michel.

This Saturday, October 13, 2018, 150 operational reservists, about thirty citizen reservists and 120 high school students went to Mont-Saint-Michel as part of the regional meeting of the military reserves of the Brittany and Normandy regions. This is a national event that is available everywhere in France between Saturday 13 October and Sunday 11 November.

For the Normandy and Brittany regions, Mont-Saint-Michel was chosen as the symbolic place of exception for the ceremony presided by Lieutenant General Jean-François Parlanti, General Officer of the West Defense and Security Zone.

High school students from Jacques Quartier and Maupertuis in Saint-Malo, Saint-François-de-Sales in Alençon, and the Institute in Saint-Lô were present. With the reservists, they participated the night before to a night walk on the camp of the Lande-d'Ouée. "We learned a lot about this night walk and this day of Saturday teaches us the protocol of ceremonies," said Simon Cardin. The 18-year-old is a first-class student in the Security Section at the Institute in Saint-Lô. The 24 students of his class went to the event on a voluntary basis. "We wanted to share with them a moment with the reservists and show them the world of the army , " says the battalion commander Renaud.
