It clarifies that the case was filed according to the materials of the prosecutor's office after checking for signs of negligence, abuse of authority and illicit drug trafficking.

“A criminal case has been opened on abuse of official authority by the FKU of SIZO-1 UFSIN of Russia in Moscow, which resulted in serious consequences, negligence and illegal sale of narcotic drugs by the unidentified persons in the detention center,” said Lyudmila Nefedova, head of the press service of the city prosecutor’s office.

Earlier in the Federal Penitentiary Service reported the start of unscheduled inspections in all Moscow remand prisons.

The state of emergency in the Sailor Silence SIZO occurred on the night of April 23-24. Three defendants were hospitalized due to poisoning by an unknown substance. One of them died in the hospital.
